UNC-Chapel Hill's high-powered political action committee has some policy experts and legislators worried about the unfair advantages that money brings to the flagship campus.
Generally, the group has been in sync with the system's priorities, lobbying last session for faculty salary increases and for a fund supporting cancer research at UNC-Chapel Hill. "In the last several years, their agenda has been the board's and the university system's," said Jim Phillips, chairman of the UNC system Board of Governors.
