UNC tops in a more important ranking

Forget about ranking No. 1 in the polls -- for men's basketball.... What's much more important is that UNC is No. 1 in a far more significant ranking -- of the best values in public education.

For the seventh straight time, Kiplinger's Personal Finance magazine says the university is the best combination of "outstanding academic quality plus an affordable price tag." ... No other school has been ranked No. 1, as best value, since the magazine started compiling its periodic analysis a decade ago.
